What if I told you that you could live on any page of this densifying book? Eternalize you, are you hooked? Do you do you need to plan a little get away? Let the pulp of dusk lap you up or do vacation in Vahalla. Just about as foiled as a poison arrow, straight up and narrow. Metamorphose be damned, I'll always see you twenty-two years old. Nothing you set in motion, a most discouraging omen. Of all the shams alive, your body and your mind. Here in your world you've never been so at home. The streets are like a merry-go-round when there's nowhere else to go in town. There's a tunnel from the city of Desperato, straight up and narrow. Metamorphose be damned, I'll always see you twenty-two years old. Now these days are filled in vain in hot pursuit, a bed of roses. Now a trail out west, young and listless. Now as stale as toast, you won't miss this. Now the traps are set, no regret in choosing, choosing, choosing.

Parkway drive, we were in the back of the ride in a fight. Trying to play it off like it's fine but we were lonely pouting there together, seat to seat.
Monica says "welcome to the world" on Friends and then bed. Waking up was something I did but I was lonely, comfortable and sheltered, fast asleep. Everything stinks, everything but the kitchen sink. I smell fear steaming up in the mirror. Now I envision London Bridges away at sea.
No no no more saying sorry, sorrys' when I fall apart. You don't have to be so maudlin, someone else will break your heart. Grownups get so ostentatious, I don't wanna take no part. No no no more saying sorry, sorrys' when I fall apart.

Rural in my Heart

The rain came over the bus stop. It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart. It fell atonal like small talk. It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart.
I don't ever wanna see the evening news make my old man cry and I don't want to see what greed can do to my beloved kind. See the place where the light hits? It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart. All the dark is where I live. It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart. Trucks roll in, we don't stop them. It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart. Head indoors when the cops come. It's rural in my heart, rural in my heart. I don't want to put my wayfarers on but here come men in black. Don't ever want to be born again and have to start from scratch. Some days show up too late, next day has taken it's place. Some days never take shape, next day has taken it's place. Some days show up too late, new day has taken it's place. Some days never take shape, new day has taken it's place.

When I was young I had a hunch that the world was cruel, so much left undone but I thought they would fix it up, we would fix by now, now I'm all grown up. I hide, wonder what went wrong. I knew every note to every song but now. Too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo ah, light as a feather. Too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo ah. Have you had enough? Joni and the only few when they hit my ears I listen to. My kingdom is far from here. She is in my place. Can it be too late?
Try not want, waste of time will not. The world is mine but maybe not a lot. The world is mine but maybe not. And there's nothing here that I'll get used to. At least maybe not a lot. The world is mine but maybe not much too much to get used to. Too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo ah, light as a feather. Too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo too-ra-loo ah.
There's a girl about town, as real as Nancy Drew. There are purple mountains, if what they say is true. There are amber waves and I can't excape the tide. There's a fruited plain and I'm thirsting for a bite.
